As a company of pet owners we strive to provide the best care to our own furry family members!
Below are aselection of staff who have answered our Burgess Quiz about themselves and moreimportantly their furry friends.
Paul Miley -Managing Director of Burgess Pet Care
1) Name- Paul Miley
2) Describe your role at Burgess- Managing Director – most people might ask what the MD does! Well, set the business direction, try to build and lead a great team, take decisions and unlock business blockers, keep the shareholders happy, look for and recognize good work, coach, advise and communicate.......amongst other things.
3) What pets do you own- Sassie our 6 year old Harlequin Great Dane (she's the boss), Reef our 5 year old Blue Great Dane (PAT dog and very laid back), Burgess our new rescue mongrel (a bit of a tyke and always up for charging around a field with Bongo), Izzy our eldest cat, a mature19 year old long haired Persian cross, Geordie a youthful 14 year old tabby hunter that joined us in Germany, Fluffy (who came with the name) from a rescue10 years ago and our latest edition, Sookie another rescue kitten, currently testing Supacat kitten.
4) Favorite thing about working at Burgess -To be amongst people who share my values - a hard working family of pet lovers and owners
5) Describe yourself in 3words -Calm, Ambitious, Learning
6) What 3 items would you take to a desert island -My wife, a solar powered iPod and a decent knife....practical to the end. Though I would miss the dogs!!
Charlie Mews – Direct Marketing Executive
1) Name – Charlotte Mews
2) Describe your role at Burgess – My role mainly consists of the planning and running of all the Burgess shows and events, it’s an interesting role which keeps me on my toes that I really enjoy!
3) What pets do you own – Dexter, my Border Terrier who has just turned one! He is a little tinker and adored by the whole family!
4) Favorite thing about working at Burgess – Getting to meet new people from all different backgrounds with a range of interests, I haven’t stopped learning since I joined the company in 2010.
5) Describe yourself in 3 words – Bubbly, keen and somewhat ditzy
6) What 3 items would you take to a desert island –Ribeana, Dexter and my dad!
Suzanne Howe – Consumer Care Advisor
1) Name – Suzanne Howe
2) Describe your role at Burgess – I am a Consumer Care Advisor and the most important aspect of my job is to ensure that any issues consumers may have are dealt with in an efficient, professional and friendly manner.
3) What pets do you own – Briar, a 13 year old Working Cocker Spaniel, who is a lovable scallywag.
4) Favorite thing about working at Burgess – The lovely, caring people I talk to every day, both inside and outside the office
5) Describe yourself in 3 words – Patient, caring and friendly
6) What 3 items would you take to a desert island – A well stocked library, a laptop and my family
Naomi Chatterley – Marketing Manager
1) Name – Naomi Chatterley
2) Describe your role at Burgess – Marketing Manager
3) What pets do you own – 1 cat – Buffy (the most adorable cat in the world who behaves more like a dog!), 2 chinchillas Molly and Gizmo (both 11 years old), 4 rabbits, Burgess, Honey Bee, Belle and Button Mushroom and half a dog, Gemma who is the prettiest dog ever aka Marauder Molly the Border Collie! (Half own because she’s actually my parent’s dog but I see her a lot and look after her when they are on holiday so I class her as mine too).
4) Favorite thing about working at Burgess – Being able to make a real difference to pet welfare and education – especially for rabbits, which are the 3rd most popular pet in the UK but the most abused through lack of understanding. I also love the work we do to help and support rescue centres which are so essential to help the UK’s unwanted pets in the time of need.
5) Describe yourself in 3 words – friendly, analytical, impulsive
6) What 3 items would you take to a desert island – ipod (full of cheesy music), gladiator dvd, bottle of wine!
Rebecca Nutland – Excel Brand Manager
1) Name – Becky
2) Describe your role at Burgess – I develop and run all the marketing activity for Excel and also work with our foreign customers.
3) What pets do you own – from time to time I borrow my parents’ deviant dog, Sam
4) Favorite thing about working at Burgess – being surrounded by pets all the time is great fun!
5) Describe yourself in 3 words – smiley, direct and stubborn! (What a combination!)
