Who are we?
With a heritage dating back 350 years, Burgess Pet Care has evolved from a family-run flour milling business, and subsequent agricultural animal feed manufacturer, into one of the UK’s largest producers of high quality pet foods, offering a strong portfolio of leading brands.
Run by a team of dedicated and knowledgeable pet owners and animal lovers, we are committed to making the lives of pets better - by producing great tasting, healthy foods and promoting pet welfare through industry and owner education.

Burgess Pet Care's staff members, who own on average 2 pets per employee, are essential to our ongoing drive for consistent quality, innovation and bringing new products to the market. In fact, many of our products are developed from employees' personal experiences as pet owners and the needs of their animals. Consequently, we have developed a strong portfolio of clearly targeted and leading brands.
All product ranges, both pre and post launch, are subject to rigorous taste testing. Utilising our UK network of rescue centre and training facility contacts, Burgess Pet Care conducts regular trials to ascertain palatability and the improvements in the health and vitality of pets being fed our products. We don't make or sell any foods that we wouldn't be happy feeding our own pets - in fact, our staff members' pets also take part in these trials and are some of our most discerning critics!

Burgess Pet Care was the first company to identify 'fibrevores' (rabbits, guinea pigs and chinchillas) as a distinct subcategory of pets that require a specific feeding and care regime. In conjunction with leading industry experts, we developed The Excel Feeding Plan, a revolutionary five step guide to help pet owners understand the high levels of beneficial fibre required by fibrevores.
