Keep Small Pets Cool in the Heat

Small animals in cages can suffer in the heat along with the rest of us!

Make sure cages are placed away from windows and kept in a cool place. If small animals are kept out of doors make sure they are somewhere that is contstantly in the shade.

A good tip to keep them extra cool is to take an empty plastic drinks bottle and fill 2/3 of it with water making sure the lid is fitted tightly. Place the bottle in your freezer and when frozen, place it in your small pet's hutch or run - they will love cuddling up to it to cool themselves down.
