Here at Burgess Pet Care we own 170 pets between all 90 employees and almost half of these are dogs, so we were really excited about going to Crufts! And what a fantastic 4 days it turned out to be! Dogs of every size, shape and colour came to see us on our stand, and to try out our food. Many were to be seen competing in all kinds of activities including agility, flyball, doggy dancing and so much more. Coronation Street star Samia Smith aka Maria Connor, together with our famous Supadog brand ambassador, celebrity puppy Ozzy (who plays Samia’s on screen black Labrador), were keen to show their support for the Burgess Supadog range of dog foods and met hundreds of visitors to the Burges stand. Ozzy delighted fans by giving Samia a helping paw and showing off just how amazing he is looking on Supadog Puppy. As a dog lover herself, Samia feeds Supadog Wellbeing Early Days to her own pet dog, Sonny, a gorgeous Maltese puppy. Ozzy wasn’t the only advocate of Supadog on the stand. Tony and Tina Caird came along with their Pro-Dogs, Shiloh the Leonburger and Pip the Terrier. Nicki Smith, Quality Manager for Burgess also brought her lovely little terrier Ralph. 22 month old Great Dane, Reef, who is proudly owned by Burgess’s Managing Director, Paul Miley, also made appearances on the Burgess stand. All together they were not only a huge hit with visitors and staff, but proved that all dogs large or small look superb on Supadog. Commenting, Paul said: “We want to constantly create and offer the best possible foods for healthy, happy pets. Reef is all the proof I need that we have a fantastic product – which he thrives on!” As if all this activity didn’t keep us busy enough, we were also pleased to offer visitors the opportunity to have a caricature drawing of themselves and their dogs for a donation towards the Halifax based Tia Greyhound and Lurcher Rescue Centre, of whom Burgess are huge supporters. We were delighted to be able to match the money we raised for the centre at the show and will be presenting TIA with a cheque for £250! As an independent, not-for-profit organisation, Tia relies entirely on the public’s generosity to support Greyhounds and Lurchers that have often been mistreated, traumatised or starved and to provide them with a new life. We are so pleased that we can do what we can to help such a worthwhile organisation.
